RAISING OF UNDERSTANDING .
We are always in search of competent / perfect Guru but the intellectual Shankara charya is of opinion that not perfect Guru but perfect student is required to achieve perfect knowledge . knowledge is universal and pervading the whole creation / universe in the form of consciousness . now it is individual ability raised to this consciousnees . the more you raise your receptivity , the more you understand and realize it . विद्या ददाति विनयम् विनयाद पात्रताम our formal education gives us receptivity and the moment we have the receptivity knowledge comes to us without any effort or Guru or school . you can learn it from stones , plants , animals , say ; the whole nature there to your service to open all the secrets of this universe . it is said one rishi called Dattatreya had many Gurues including a prostitute . this approves the fact thatit is student who is able to have the whole knowledge of this universe provided he is good / competent recepter . so we should increase our hunger for knowledge and raise our receptibility . if one goes to sea , he can fetch the water with his pot that he has and not more than that . but on the other if you go to sea and live with it you can use the whol of the sea . this is what with knowledge . we have to raise ourselves up to the sea and the whole of the sea is ours . it is open to all . Guru is not needed .
The second thing that is importent is clarity in learning and not confussion . you have to delete much of that you have learnt wrong . when you feel that there is some confussion in learning , means you are lead to wrong track . there is no contradiction in knowledge i.e. pure knowledge . say what Vedant tells you or Qura'n or Bible Or any authority of knowledge is trust worthy and if you feel some problem it means your understanding is mislead or unable to follow or the meaning you draw is out of refernce . it is sure that the moment you feel no difference between what Vedas and Qura'n or Bible says . or say you will come to the same that is told by any living and non-living in this nature . each and all speak to you and the same thing , the same fact that is truth and TRUTH AND TRUTH and nothing else .

LEARNING TO SERVE ; THE OTHER WAY .
There is one other way to serve the society and people and our country . to minimize your own services and needs that are due from the society . reduce these services and try to bring them to zero . keep yourself above the law , means lead a life that does not break any law of the society or Government. you create no work for police , for administration , for justice . you neither create nor need the services of Govt . Agencies because you follow all the rules made by Govt . , society and moral laws coming down by rituals . you may not achieve 100 but more and more you go to the right side of fifty ,the more peace and pleasure and physical and mental prosperity comes to you .you are a law -abiding citizen and you are rich by all means say , save your time , money and trouble of all kind that reduce the charm of good life . see ! one example -- you follow the rules of the road and traffic -police and all its laws become nonexistent . this is great service to man kind and very easy to follow but even those of good intelligence and thinking themselves civilized do not follow saying , '' who cares ? '' these are the services rendered to country are very very common and need common sense. but good people comment , '' common sense is but very uncommon and it is very difficult to be common because it needs total awareness for total time.
the other service of this kind is to save the products and materials that are used in daily life . you can do it in two ways -1- by minimizing your demands / needs / consumption as of cloth , eatables , water , electricity , room /houses , rail , road and others so many things on the list . use that much is necessary. 2 - by saving these things from ill -use , wastage , carelessness and other reasons that are under our control . in Yoga these two methods are taken as means of Yoga under Yama that is Asangrah ( not storing more than needed ) and under Niyam -that is tapah and santosh (practicing penance and contentment ) . this is great contribution and excellent service to the society and country at large but sorry to note , we are not so advanced in these national causes as much as we have gone to ours own .
This is all because of our ill- education ; education without culture , education without great Indian convention and legacy that we have been detached from due to a long period of slavery . but we have not lost them completely and we can revive them easily .

LEARNING TO SERVE .
Each of us born or placed in this world do not enjoy the same fate in the field of life . some are intellectually superior some economically and some in other fields to others . some need help and service and some can give it . every one can contribute to this service to individual , society and to the world society at large .there are very few who are destitute and hapless either born or by casual happenings and accident and need full as they are not able to do any thing except to keep alive .
This help should not be taken as charity and act of kindness but as act of service to humankind . as the water maintains its level , those by the grace of God or Nature have been provided or granted the gift of riches , muscle power , intelligence , skill of any kind , learning , power of invention , poetic and writing ability , social service as to educate and keep cleanliness in the areas deserve and ability to establish and run , economic , social and educational institutions , should be aware of their abilities and give others , who need . by this service we apparently help the world but really help ourselves . we feel pleasure to give a glass of water to thirsty and a loaf of bread to hungry . this can be done on small scale , in small cases , that perhaps , we over look . it can be five/ten rupees to help a person who is hungry or has cold and cough or the fare or fees . Gandhi jee is of opinion that the poor and needy give us an opportunity for service and we should be rather grateful to them those who gave us a chance to serve them . Swami Vivekanand says , '' there is no service, possible to God ; it is only service to man that is rendered to God .'' Bible says , '' it is not the receiver that is blessed , but it is the giver . '' be thankful that you are allowed to provide your help and power of benevolence and mercy through a person or society .
service to man and nature as a whole is the first good work in once life . the worship and the yajnya and tour to religious places and all religious acts are have no merit . according to theory of karm , the action one has done can not be destroyed until it has born its fruit, no power in nature , as a rule can stop it from yielding its fruit and result . if you do an evil act , you must suffer for it and if good act similarly there is no power in the universe which can stay or stop, bearing good result . the service to others is best of bests ; nothing even seconds to it .
'' who cares , if there is a soul or not ; whether there is Heaven or Hell ;whether you are a Theist or an Atheist ; an Agnostic or Vedantitst ; a Christian or a Mohammedan ; forget yourself , this is the first lesson to be learnt that but there is the world and it is full of pain and misery and struggle to lessen it or die in the attempt . i do not care to kow your various theories about God and subtle doctrines of morals and of Soul . DO GOOD AND BE GOOD . '', said Lord Buddha. he works best who works without any motive , neither for money , nor for fame nor for any thing else .
'' selfishness is the chief sin . he who says / think , '' i will eat first , have more money than others , i will posses every thing first even Heaven / Mukhti is selfish. other who says , '' i will be the last , is unselfish . do not help but serve . use the privilege. you have the privilege to grant leave to those who need and you say , ''no '' you deny the privilege , granted to you by God . thus you defy God . once when i was Principal in one school , some good students committed some mischief as they had to leave the school by their xii exams. some of my friends suggested me to put bad entries to their papers and i thought ; i was not there to give some one bad entry as Head of the school but to award them good entries , good certificates of merit and to my faith , now they are in very good positions and are serving the society as well . thank God , i was right . blessed are those , who are rich (in any thing/ field /faculty ) and doubly blessed the become when they serve the poor and needy .
'' After so much austerity , i have understood ; this is the real truth -- God is present inevery 'JIVA' (living being ) there is no other God besides that . . who serves jiva (being ) serves God , indeed . if in this Hell of a world , one can bring a little joy and peace even for a day into the heart of a single person , that much alone is true . this is the gist of all worship -- to be pure and to do good to others. he who sees Lord in the poor in the weak and in the diseased really worship his Lord , and if he sees Lord in the image his worship is but preliminary . OF EDUCATION /TRUE EDUCATION
In our country the most important thing that is to be taken on first is , education . education of values and education of virtues , together . in earlier India we gave more importance to virtues but after freedom we ran to values faster and virtues were neglected . see that values are life - skills that pay an individual for material world and give him , place , post and position with money so that he may buy all that he needs for his physical life . virtues are moral traits of man that motivate him for his contribution to society as a whole . virtue is sacrifice and contribution . the western system that we took as our education , no doubt , put us on globe on equal footing with others and proved that ,we Indians are no less than any . on the other hand , we somewhat lagged a little behind in the field of virtues and morals . it is matter of great concern that even IAS officers , the great office in the country , went corrupt , not in almost all cases but in many cases . then come the teachers , doctors most reputed and now what to talk of others . they are intellectuals but not educated (properly) . here the word properly is used in sense of abuse to the word education . reality is that we have lost our moral temper .
People say -- criminals and corrupts are in the parliament , corrupts in the public office ., in industries , in media and other fields of Indian life , but see! WHERE IS THE ROOT CAUSE ? it is only Education and in Education . really Education is half - corrupt . we learn to earn for us and forgot to earn for our country. we have valu but no virtue . Gandhi , the Mahatma , said , ''service before self '' we have gone only service to self . the voter , the voted , the voting processes all are in peril in our country . if we have to rectify all this , we have too re-look our education .
Should i humbly , submit that ,is it criminal or the corrupt who is all cause of crime and corruption ? i say , no ,not at all , we and the whole society is cause of these ills . and these ills are the result of our wrong education . we respect Gandhi and Ram , this much reverence left for them , but we don't follow them . one day , an editor invited my thoughts on how to check suicide in our young students and mature officers and i told him that we should ask them to read Ram Charit Manas and Gita and see ! he laughed at me . so unwise it seemed to him that my self esteem sank to zero . but i know that it is true and correct and real , never a failure in my learning and experience of long sixty years . but he laughed and i bore it up .
We should temper our education with virtues . we should train and produce better teachers in all the faculties viz. art , science, medicine , engineering etc. an engineer should learn Gita , a doctor should know Ram Charit Manas. Gayatri Mantra should be chanted in hospitals and electric-houses . we are copying English who keep Bible in their places of worship and teach others but do not follow themselves . had they done it , they would have not enslaved the half of the world . it was Gandhi , the poor Indian who taught them what Bible means . a Pope in America wrote , '' we thought earlier that thoughts of Bible were meant for some other world , it was Gandhi who practice those principles of Bible in this world of ours , first in human history .
Therefore with present value education we have to bring back our Indian education full of morals and virtues. in our country to improve all , we need improve education . our human resource is poor only on one side , the moral side , neglected and forgot . we want an educated man in real spirit not in word . '' it is not gold but people make a nation great and strong . ''
''as far as the days of upnishads ,we thrown the challenge to the world ; '' not by progeny , not by wealth , but by renunciation and sacrifice alone immortality and grand greatness is reached . they (Western) all have failed , who had lust for power and gold and the rest are leading to misery . whether peace , patience , goodness , brain and spirituality has to survive or war , non-forbearance , wickedness ,muscle and worldliness. we have solved our problem ages ago , our solution is unworldliness -renunciation , spirituality and education of morals and virtues .'' -Swami Vivekanand.

GOING MAD WITH SOMETHING .
You have some potential some inner ability and quality . with help of the competent guide or teacher or psychologist you should know or you may find yourself the specific ability that you have got by Nature . when you have got that idea and area of your life , start working in that direction with good planning and with all your might . do not try to be jack of all trades , but master of one that you deserve. this is called singleness of purpose . if the aim is not single , you are divided -aim and finally a failure . i refer the story of Arjun who was so keen and confident of his aim . go mad with this idea . without madness you can not achieve the target in full . those were rather the crazy and mad who invented new thoughts and ideas in the field of art , literature and science . all the stories are well known by each and all of those who wasted / sacrificed their whole of lives in inventions and work . they took a dream and worked on as fantasy and succeeded . take example of those who invented telephone and electricity ; i.e. Grahambell and Farrade.
So take an idea / thought /target /aim and dream of it , day night . sleep with it and awake with it ;live with it and die with it . if you go to any other , know , you are going to failure . your brain , your muscles , your mind and your nerves all together need to be fully and wholly involved and engaged in that single work , the work that writes your fate but once . this is the only and only way to success .
Lord Bauddha , resigned his kingdom , palace , parents, , wife and loving child to know the Truth. Socrates drank Hemlock .Jesus went on cross for saying that he was Son of God . Harish chand for truth sacrificed his all and today he is not Harishchand but Truth himself , the embodiment of TRUTH . no story of the Great is good but total devotion to their cause . and their cause contributed a lot to the world society and changed the world .
The more you concentrate on your task the more you get the knowledge of your subjects . . people ask how to acquire knowledge , how to learn English and i tell them to be an avid reader. to become mad of what you want . in making money , studying any subject or doing any thing in your life , you need full dedication , full attention and full concentration . all the knowledge so far in the world has been earned by single mind and concentration of mind .this is the secret .
it is my observation that 90 out of 100 young people waste their time and not aware of their main aim and goal , i advise them not to waste their lives and opportunity that is but for once .
whatever you do, devote your whole time , heart and mind with your soul to it . the work , how small it may be , say even if it is cleaning of a cup or writing a word you should use all of your mind and skill . the person who can not clean a cup in effective way can not do any thing great .
The full devotion is the clue of success . do small work/thing /job /duty in great way that is Yoga in GITA . yogah , karmasu kaushalam .'

ME WITHIN THEE /SELF CONFIDENCE

Omar Khaiyam is absolutely right and i quote , '' God is within you '' Vedanta says , '' TATWAMASI'' you are that God .Tulasi ji writes , '' you are the part of that whole , the power of God on Earth . those great men who shaped the history of the world had faith in themselves . God is there but you are here and to act and enjoy the fruits . the Divine Power is within yourself and has a particular mission to be fulfilled through you . you can do any thing . most of the great men whom i know in the world did not know their own fates when they were young and common . their actions made them great . i do not want ti give examples , you can see many . you fail , only when you do not bring out your best that you have within . bring it out to the best , the infinite , the NOT manifest , within you । faith in God and faith in yourself । act , and the best is there out।
things are difficult , more difficult , may most difficult but nothing is impossible for the man , the divine soul . we are divine , although not in full but in part but we rise and rise and get the strength from the infinite source , as much as the need is . you are never refused power and energy , only when you go on action . if you think you are weak , you are weak , say really you are under the KALP VRIKSH the tree that gives you what you desire coupled with action . but the reality is that you are strong and your own thinking makes you weak .
do not expect any help from any one . no one will come to help you if you are weak . if you are strong and need no help every one will come to you to offer help. say , ' no help please . thanks , i can do it . let me try . and see you have done the task . i say all this of my own experiences and of those , i saw in my life .
our Upnishadas tell us , ''SOAHAMASMI '' I AM THAT . '' TATWMASI '' , THAT THOU ART . the what to fear ? He is with you . if you are true , you are strong . i ask my students and friends , '' are you strong ? if the answer is , ''no'' you are not with truth. have the truth and strength comes to you and success follows . strength is life , weakness is death . life is to conquer death and it needs strength and again strength comes from truth .
Death is better than a vegetating ignorant and weak life . it is better to die on battlefield than to live a life of defeat . people say have faith in this and in that but i say have faith in yourself and in your action . let a thousand failures come , go on , success is waiting you . the more you fail , the nearer you become and win .
i conclude with three words , you are Divine , you need believe in yourself , you need action . belief in self is belief in God who made the law of action . good action > good result , bad action >bad result . open your eyes and stretch your hands and see , '' ME WITHIN THEE BLIND .''
