Seeking knowledge without prospect of immediate gain or reward is a characteristic of man. It implies a degree of risk taking, since the unknown is explored, and is difficult to explain in theories of behaviour based on motivation and drive reduction; but it clearly has survival value, when combined with rapid learning. One might say that man is unique as a species through his extraordinary curiosity.
Curiosity means -a desire to learn , a desire to know about people and things , a desire to know of an object that arouses interest as by being Novel or Extraordinary , strange or odd aspect of any person , place or thing , or because of it;s fastidious nature ,
'' The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. '' ~Albert Einstein
A person who raises a question is ignorant for a moment but one who does not . remain foolish for ever . so be curious to know & ask all that you do not know. read it , find it, learn it ; learn while others sleep & play ; act while others loaf, talk & gossip . dream , plan , act & realize , while others wish .want to do something , mistake it , take it and make it . learn to learn ; learn the useful , moral and beautiful . learn ,talk , hear , read ,write and discus all that adds to your growth of body , mind & personalty. ignore the irrelevant & save , time ,money & energy. learn to earn . learn to live and finally grow a MAN .
I keep six honest serving-men,
They taught me all I knew;
Their names are -- What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.
~Rudyard Kipling
''Curiosity is any natural inquisitive behavior evident by observation in many human beings, and is the emotional aspect of living beings that engenders exploration, investigation and learning. It is a state in which you want to learn more about something. If somebody is curious, it reflects a lot about his personality. A curious person is always more well-informed as because of this curiosity in his nature he is able to explore more about the world and is able to well connect the different facts to form a more logical reasoning for things. What we have to do is to be forever curiously testing new opinions and courting new impressions. ''
Walter Pater
