GROW WISER ..................

GROW WISER THIS TIME ..............................

Having , power ,pelf , position ,learning , all kind of intelligence ; all this and that , is good but better , it wold be to grow a little wiser .............
' Knowledge is invariably a matter of degree: you cannot put your finger upon even the simplest datum and say "this we know."
A toothache, or a violent passion, is not necessarily diminished by our knowledge of its causes, its character, its importance or insignificance.''
- T.S. Eliot
We don't know a millionth of one percent about anything.
- Thomas A. Edison
Wisdom is the quality that keeps you from getting into situations where you need it.
- Doug Larson
Knowledge is proud that he has learned so much;
Wisdom is humble that he knows no more.
- William Cowper
'' The road to wisdom?—Well, it's plain and simple to express:...............
Err.....and err...........and err again
but less...........and less..............and less. '' - Piet Hein

Happy are those who find wisdom, and those who get understanding, for it's income is better than silver, and revenue better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with . Long life , riches , honor , pleasantness, and all peace come to wise men ..... called happy.
I f you go to temple / masque / church that is good but wiser is to see and feel and realize that you are the best temple of God on Earth and HE is within you and in all in right proportion .
It is nice and good that you do not harm any one but you can grow wiser by helping and serving others who deserve service and you are able to serve .
Charity is good but with to be sure that your money is not misused by hypocrites and cheats who live on in the name of Religion ,wiser is to help your known cases directly .
It may be good to go far to shrines of God and Goddess but wiser to serve your mother-father and ill .
You offer garlands / flowers on idols but be wiser to know that flowers are more alive than stones and mother earth smiles through flowers ; instead you can have flower -pots and flowers -garden and allow them to smile in full on branches . enjoy the beauty and scent . we can have flower- gardens around temples , schools and homes .
You should enjoy all material things and gifts that you have ,earned and offered but you can grow wiser by minimizing your needs and spare a little for others or for society and to the Nation at large .
these are the few points , only as hints and you can find out hundredth of things where and when you can grow a bit wiser .
To look at life differently
'' Some people don't grow wiser they merely grow old
They remain as they were and think in the same way
.............................
Financially well to do wise people one might say rare
For wisdom will not make you a millionaire
That the wise are a minority comes as no surprise
for many people grow older but they do not grow wise
No fool like an old fool you do hear .......................''

** Some of the Great Statements in Vedanta ( महा वाक्य ) are .................

Prjnanam Brahm = Consciousness is Brahman .
Aham Brahmaasmi = I am Brahman
Tatwmasi = That you are ( too)
Ayam Aatmaa Brahman = This Self is Brahman .
Soahmasmi = That I am (too)

Ekam Sad Viprah Vahudhaa vadanti .Truth is One called by various names by wise men .
Ekoham bahusyami = I am One and becoming Many .
Na jayate mriyate vaa kadaachan = Nothing is born or die.
Sanatana Dharma recognizes that the Ultimate Reality, which is the ground of infinite potentiality and actualization, cannot be limited by any name or concept. The potential for human wholeness (or in other frames of reference, enlightenment, salvation, liberation, transformation, blessedness, nirvana, moksha) is present in every human being. No race or religion is superior and no color or creed is inferior. All humans are spiritually united like the drops of water in an ocean.
Sanatana Dharma, meaning “Eternal or Universal Righteousness” is the original name of what is now popularly called Hinduism. Sanatana Dharma comprises of spiritual laws which govern the human existence. Sanatana Dharma is to human life what natural laws are to the physical phenomena. Just as the phenomena of gravitation existed before it was discovered, the spiritual laws of life are eternal laws which existed before they were discovered by the ancient rishis (sages) for the present age during the Vedic period. Sanatana Dharma declares that something cannot come out of nothing and, therefore, the universe itself is the manifestation of the Divine being. This truth forms the invocation of the Isa Upanishad (a Hindu scripture):
That is full; this is full. The full comes out of the full.
Taking the full from the full, the full itself remains. -- -   Ishavashya Upnishad  (Rig Veda)

* Don't enforce one belief / worship or conduct for all. Don't try to destroy different forms of worship, claiming your to be the only right . Such efforts are against the Divine Law.
Give importance to sincerity of heart and nobleness of conduct in the field of all in their own religions.
Don't try to limit the limitless God. Do not create inter-religious wars / debate / doubts , forcing your claims and dogmas as better or the best, on others.
Give a person freedom to think / reason to believe or disbelieve in his / her own way , which suits his / her temperament. After all, what is important in worship of God is the sincerity of heart, not the outer forms and means .

WHAT GREAT MEN SAY ON BHAGWAT GITA

"The secret of karma yoga which is to perform actions without any fruitive desires is taught by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita."  -  Swami Vivekanand
'' When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad-gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day. '' - Mahatma Gandhi:
'' When I read the Bhagavad-Gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous. '' - Albert Einstein:
'' In the morning I bathe my intellect in the stupendous and cosmogonal philosophy of the Bhagavad-gita, in comparison with which our modern world and its literature seem puny and trivial. '' - Henry David Thoreau:'' The Bhagavad-Gita has a profound influence on the spirit of mankind by its devotion to God which is manifested by actions.'' - Dr. Albert Schweitzer:
'' The Bhagavad-Gita is a true scripture of the human race a living creation rather than a book, with a new message for every age and a new meaning for every civilization.'' - Sri Aurobindo
'' The idea that man is like unto an inverted tree seems to have been current in by gone ages. The link with Vedic conceptions is provided by Plato in his Timaeus in which it states..." behold we are not an earthly but a heavenly plant." This correlation can be discerned by what Krishna expresses in chapter 15 of Bhagavad-Gita. '' - Carl Jung:
'' The Bhagavad-Gita is the most systematic statement of spiritual evolution of endowing value to mankind. It is one of the most clear and comprehensive summaries of perennial philosophy ever revealed; hence its enduring value is subject not only to India but to all of humanity. '' - Aldous Huxley:
'' In order to approach a creation as sublime as the Bhagavad-Gita with full understanding it is necessary to attune our soul to it. '' - Rudolph Steiner:
'' I owed a magnificent day to the Bhagavad-gita. It was the first of books; it was as if an empire spoke to us, nothing small or unworthy, but large, serene, consistent, the voice of an old intelligence which in another age and climate had pondered and thus disposed of the same questions which exercise us. '' - Ralph Waldo Emerson:
'' The Bhagavad-Gita deals essentially with the spiritual foundation of human existence. It is a call of action to meet the obligations and duties of life; yet keeping in view the spiritual nature and grander purpose of the universe. '' - Jawahar Lal Nehru:
'' From a clear knowledge of the Bhagavad-Gita all the goals of human existence become fulfilled. Bhagavad-Gita is the manifest quintessence of all the teachings of the Vedic scriptures. '' - Aadi Shankaraachaarya
'' The Bhagavad-Gita was spoken by Lord Krishna to reveal the science of devotion to God which is the essence of all spiritual knowledge. The Supreme Lord Krishna's primary purpose for descending and incarnating is relieve the world of any demoniac and negative, undesirable influences that are opposed to spiritual development, yet simultaneously it is His incomparable intention to be perpetually within reach of all humanity. '' - Ramanujachaarya .
'' The Mahabharata has all the essential ingredients necessary to evolve and protect humanity and that within it the Bhagavad-Gita is the epitome of the Mahabharata just as ghee is the essence of milk and pollen is the essence of flowers. '' - Madhvacarya:
'' The Bhagavad-Gita is not seperate from the Vaishnava philosophy and the Srimad Bhagavatam fully reveals the true import of this doctrine which is transmigration of the soul. On perusal of the first chapter of Bhagavad-Gita one may think that they are advised to engage in warfare. When the second chapter has been read it can be clearly understood that knowledge and the soul is the ultimate goal to be attained. On studying the third chapter it is apparent that acts of righteousness are also of high priority. If we continue and patiently take the time to complete the Bhagavad-Gita and try to ascertain the truth of its closing chapter we can see that the ultimate conclusion is to relinquish all the conceptualized ideas of religion which we possess and fully surrender directly unto the Supreme Lord. '' - Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati:

SUPREME CONSCIOUSNESS IS BRAHMAN

The statement here ( प्रज्ञानं ब्रह्म ) = ''The Brahman is the Supreme Consciousness '' is one of the : The Mahavakyas are the Great Sentences of Advaita Vedanta , and are contained in the Upanishads. Maha is Great, and Vakyas are sentences, or utterances for contemplation. They provide perspective and insights that tie the texts together in a cohesive whole. The contemplations on the Mahavakyas also blend well with the practices of yoga meditation, prayer, and mantra, which are companion practices in Yoga. The pinnacle of the wisdom and practices of the ancient sages is contained in the terse twelve verses of the Mandukya Upanishad, which outlines the philosophy and practices of the OM mantra. This statement comes from Aitereya Upnishad of Rig Vda 3 / 3.

Part 3 − Chapter 1: Concerning the Self
1 - Who is He whom we worship, thinking: "This is the Self"? Which one is the Self? Is it He by
whom one sees form, by whom one hears sound and by whom one tastes the sweet and the unsweet?
2 - Is it the heart and the mind. It is consciousness, lordship, knowledge, wisdom, retentive
power of mind, sense knowledge, steadfastness, though, thoughtfulness, sorrow, memory,
concepts, purpose, life, desire, longing: all these are but various names of Consciousness
(Prajnanam).
3 - He is Brahman, He is Indra, He is Prajapati; He is all these gods; He is the five great
elements−earth, air, akasa (space) , water, light; He is all these small creatures and the others
which are mixed; He is the origin−those born of an egg, of a womb, of sweat and of a
sprout; He is horses, cows, human beings, elephants−whatever breathes here, whether
moving on legs or flying in the air or unmoving. All this is guided by Consciousness, is
supported by Consciousness. The basis is Consciousness. Consciousness is Brahman.
4 - He, having realised oneness with Pure Consciousness, soared from this world and having
obtained all desires in yonder heavenly world, became immortal−yea, became immortal. − Aitareya Upanishad − (Rigveda )
Prajnanam brahman = Brahman is the supreme knowledge
(Knowing the absolute reality is the supreme knowledge) .The Knowledge out of which other knowledge arises : There are many branches and levels of knowledge one can attain. However, they all stem from & part of, a higher knowledge. There is the highest , the absolute knowledge, which is the supreme . It is called absolute because it is not stemming from something else. Supreme knowledge is the ground out of which the diversity of knowledge and experience comes. It is just about impossible , describing this notion of supreme knowledge, which is part of the reason that there are so many different descriptions given by many people. Thus, we use metaphor after metaphor trying to capture and communicate the essence of the meaning. This Mahavakya (great statement ) is saying that as you climb the ladder of knowledge, this higher knowledge is to be found at the level of Brahman, the oneness of Universal Consciousness.
Intuitively, you come to see that there is consciousness, or whatever term you would like to use, that is higher, more foundational, or prerequisite to the lower knowledge in all of its other forms. The highest rung of the ladder is called supreme knowledge, prajnam, (प्रज्ञानम ) and this is said to be one and the same with brahman, ( ब्रह्म) the oneness.
Meaning of the word Brahman .... The word Brahman comes from the root Brha or Brhi, which means knowledge, expansion, and all-pervasiveness. It is that existence which alone exists, and in which there is the appearance of the entire universe. Brahman means the absolute reality, that which is Eternal, and not subject to death, decay, or decomposition , having the attribute of Omnipresence & Oneness.
Brahman is not a proper name, but a Sanskrit word that denotes that oneness, the non-dual reality, the substratum underneath all of the many names and forms of the universe. Brahman is somewhat like the difference between the word ocean, and the specific ocean called Pacific Ocean. The word Brahman is like ocean, not Pacific Ocean. Brahman is not a name of God. These thoughts neither promote nor oppose any particular religious concept of God.
One may also choose to think of Brahman in theological terms, though that is not necessary. Within that perspective, the scholars speak of two principles: immanence and transcendence. Immanence is described as the divinity existing in, and extending into all parts of the created world. In that sense, the Mahavakyas can be read as suggesting there is no object that does not contain, or is not part of that creation.
For convenience sake, it is said that Brahman is the nature of existence, consciousness, and bliss. The real meaning comes only in direct experience resulting from contemplation and yoga meditation. Some of the great  Some of the Great Statements in Vedanta ( महा वाक्य ) are .................

Please compare  .... (* A Priory knowledge / Noumena )
*A priori knowledge' is known independently of experience, and 'a posteriori knowledge' is proven through experience
The claim is more formally known as Kant's transcendental deduction and it is the central argument of his major work, the Critique of Pure Reason.
According to Kant, it is vital always to distinguish between the distinct realms of Phenomena and Noumena. Phenomena are the appearances, which constitute the our experience; Noumena are the (presumed) things themselves, which constitute reality. All of our synthetic a priori judgments apply only to the phenomenal realm, not the noumenal. (It is only at this level, with respect to what we can experience, that we are justified in imposing the structure of our concepts onto the objects of our knowledge.) Since the thing in itself (Ding an sich) would by definition be entirely independent of our experience of it, we are utterly ignorant of the Noumenal Realm.

मनुष्य-जीवन के तीन पहलू हैं ( Three in one / three aspects ) .

They are not your concern. You neither do nor enjoy. You are free. 1.7 You are the Solitary Witness of All That Is,forever free.Your only bondage is not seeing This.1.8 The thought: “I am the doer”is the bite of a poisonous snake. To know: “I do nothing” is the wisdom of faith.Be happy. 1.9 A single understanding:“I am the One Awareness,”consumes all suffering in the fire of an instant.Be happy.1.10 You are unbounded Awareness—Bliss, Supreme Bliss--in which the universe appears like the mirage of a snake in a rope. Be happy. 1.11 It is true what they say:“You are what you think.”If you think you are bound you are bound. If you think you are free you are free. 1.12 You are Self—the Solitary Witness. You are perfect, all-pervading, One.You are free, desireless, forever still. he universe is but a seeming in You. 1.13 Meditate on this: “I am Awareness alone--Unity itself.”Give up the idea that you are separate, a person, that there is within and without. 1.14 You have long been bound thinking:“I am a person.” Let the knowledge: “I am Awareness alone” be the sword that frees you. 1.15 You are now and forever free, luminous, transparent, still. The practice of meditation
keeps one in bondage.1.16 You are pure Consciousness—the substance of the universe. The universe exists within you.Don’t be small-minded.1.17 You are unconditioned, changeless, formless. You are solid, unfathomable, cool.Desire nothing. You are Consciousness. 1.18 That which has form is not real.Only the formless is permanent.Once this is known, you will not return to illusion. 1.19 Just as a mirror exists both within and without the image reflected, the Supreme Self exists both within and without the body
1.20 Just as the same space exists both within and without a jar,the timeless, all-pervasive One exists as Totality As a pot returns to clay,a wave to water,a bracelet to gold,so will the universe return to Me.3.2 Having realized yourself as One,being serene and indestructible, why do you desire wealth?3.3 Having realized yourself as That in which the waves of the world rise and fall, why do you run around in turmoil? 3.4 Having realized yourself as pure Awareness,as beautiful beyond description, how can you remain a slave to lust? 3.5 It is strange that in a sage who has realized Self in All and All in Self
this sense of ownership should continue. 3.6 Strange that one abiding in the Absolute, intent on freedom, should be vulnerable to lust and weakened by amorous pastimes. 3.7 Strange that knowing lust as an enemy of knowledge,
one so weak and nearing deathshould still crave sensual pleasure. 5.1 You are immaculate, touched by nothing. What is there to renounce? The mind is complex—let it go.Know the peace of dissolution.5.2 The universe arises from you ike foam from the sea.Know yourself as One.Enter the peace of dissolution.
5.3 Like an imagined snake in a rope the universe appears to exist in the immaculate Self but does not.Seeing this you know: “There is nothing to dissolve.”5.4 You are perfect, changeless, through misery and happiness,
hope and despair, life and death.his is the state of dissolution. 8.1 When the mind desires or grieves things, accepts or rejects things,is pleased or displeased by things--this is bondage.8.2 When the mind does not desire or grieve, accept or reject, become pleased or displeased, liberation is at hand.
8.3 If the mind is attached to any experience, this is bondage. When the mind is detached from all experience, this is liberation. 8.4 When there is no “I” there is only liberation. When “I” appears bondage appears with it.Knowing this,it is effortless to refrain from accepting and rejecting.10.1 Give up desire, which is the enemy.Give up prosperity, which is born of mischief and good work. Be indifferent.10.2 Look upon friends, lands, wealth, houses, wives, gifts-- and all apparent good fortune--as a passing show,as a dream lasting three to five days.10.3 Where there is desire, there is the world.
Be firm in non-attachment.Be free of desire.Be happy.10.4 Bondage and desire are the same.Destroy desire and be free.Only by detaching from the world does one joyfully realize Self.10.5 You are One—Awareness itself. The universe is neither aware nor does it exist.Even ignorance is unreal. What is left to know?
11.1Existence, non-existence, change--this is the nature of things.Realizing this, stillness, serenity and bliss naturally follow.11.2 One who knows for certain that “Self creates All and is alone”becomes still, desireless, unattached.11.3 One who knows for certain that adversity and success come and go in obedience to destiny becomes content. He neither desires nor grieves. 11.4 One who knows for certain that birth and death, happiness and misery, come and go in obedience to destiny sees nothing to accomplish. He engages in non-action, and in action remains unattached.11.5 One who has realized that only by caring is misery caused in the world becomes free, happy, serene, desireless. 11.6 “I am not the body, nor is the body my possession—I am Awareness itself.” One who realizes this for certain has no memory of things done or left undone. There is only the Absolute.
11.7 “From Brahma to the last blade of grass-- I alone exist.” One who knows this for certain becomes immaculate, serene, unconflicted. Attainment has no meaning. 11.8 One who knows for certain that this manifold and wonderful universe is nothing becomes desireless Awareness and abides in the stillness of No-thing.( courtesy -B.Marshal )

RAMA THE DIVINE MAN ON EARTH

Lord Rama  was a legendary king of Ayodhya in ancient India. In Hinduism, he is considered to be an Incarnation  of  God  as described in the great epic poem  Ram Charit Manas by Tulasidas great Hindi poet .
Lord Rama is one of the most popular figures and deities in Vaishnavism . The original details concerning Rama come from the Ramayana, one of the two great epics of India ,written originally by great Sanskrit poet Valmiki  most probably the contemporary of Lord Rama .Born as the eldest son of Kaushalya and Dasharatha, king of Ayodhya, Rama is referred to as Maryada Purushottama, ( The best among men with perfect moderation ) .Rama is the husband of Sita,  the embodiment of perfect womanhood.
Lord Rama's life and journey is one of perfect adherence to dharma  / righteousness ,despite harsh tests of life and time. For the sake of his father's words and honour , Rama gave up  his claim to Kosala's throne to serve an exile of fourteen years in the forest. His wife, Sita and brother, Lakshmana decided to join him, and all three spend the fourteen years in exile together. This leads to the kidnapping of Sita by Ravana, the king of Lanka. After a long and arduous search that tests his personal strength and virtue, Rama fights a colossal war against Ravana. In a war of powerful and magical beings, greatly destructive weaponry and battles, Rama slays Ravana in battle and liberates his wife. Having completed his exile, Rama returns to be crowned King in Ayodhya and  becomes Emperor of Ayodhya ,an era of perfect happiness, peace, prosperity and justice known as Rama Rajya.( Dream of M.K.Gandhi to be established in India ).
Lord Rama's courage in searching for Sita and fighting a terrible war to rescue his wife and their honour is complemented by Sita's absolute devotion to her husband's love, and perfect chastity despite being Ravana's captive. Rama's younger brothers, Lakshmana, Shatrughna and Bharata strongly complement his piety, virtue and strength, and they are believed by many to belong to the Mariyada Purshottama . Rama's piety and virtue attract powerful and devoted allies such as Hanuman and the Vanaras of Kishkindha, with whose help he rescues Sita. The legend of Rama is deeply influential and popular in the societies of the Indian subcontinent and across South East Asia ,now in the whole world . Rama is revered for his unending compassion, courage and devotion to religious values and duty.Had  God wished to be a man on Earth  ,He would have been 'Rama'. And Rama was 'HE'.
* Lord Ram is ,the Best among men on Earth in our history .He is our / man's ideal ;that a man could be The Best DIVINE-MAN whom even Gods obey ,salute and revere ;that all of us try to be more or less ,sooner or later if we want to outlive and survive . Now you worship His Form, you repeat His name; ignoring His orders. Without practicing the discipline laid down by Rama to purify the mind, all else is mere show, empty rituals.
Rama for you should mean the Path He trod, the ideal He held aloft, and the Ordinance He laid down. They are eternal and timeless. we all have "Ram" in us and need to develop to the,Ideal -Ram
* Ram &; Ravan , This is the Game Of Duality .The whole creation is made of twos of one pair ;as day-night ,life-death , good -evil , man -woman etc.,etc. Good and Evil both are instinctual to man (are dormant in man / say two potentials ). this way we have within us a Ram and a Ravan both together . we all know it . but the main thing is - to choose between the two . (we are free to make our choices) Ram is better श्रेय (shreya /difficult /laboursome ) , Ravan is worse प्रेय (preya=alluring /loving attractive ) :we are born good - now we are free to go to better or to worse , as worse is easier commons go to it ,wise choose the difficult * this is all applicable to human beings/ to us .To the WHOLE it makes no difference . you be a Ram or Ravan and reap the fruit of your choice ,weep or laugh ,win or loose The Big Game Goes On... . there can be no Ram without Ravan and amazing truth that none wants / aspires to be Ravan but it is difficult and costlier to be Ram .Thanks to the Supreme wit and unfailing wisdom of the Ring -Master .

THE THEORY OF SELF - Yoga Vashishta, - 2

It is the nature of the mind to accept certain things and to reject others; this is bondage. The mind  creates the world, the mind is the individual; only that which is done by the mind is regarded as done, not that which is done by the body. The arm with which one embraces the wife is the very arm with which one embraces the daughter.
The mind is samsara / world ; the mind is bondage; the body is activated by the mind .The only God to be conquered is the mind. Its conquest attains everything. All other efforts are fruitless. To man even the conquest of the three worlds, without the conquest of the mind, is in vain.
Association with the wise, abandonment of latent impressions, self-enquiry, control of breathing — are the means of conquering the mind.
When the mind dissolves, everything that is dual or single is dissolved. What remains after that is the Supreme Brahman, peaceful, eternal and free from misery. There is nothing equal to the supreme joy felt by a person of pure mind who has attained the state of pure consciousness and overcome miseries of life.
I am the whole universe; the undecaying Supreme Self. There is neither past nor future apart from me’ — reflect in this manner. Everything is the One Brahman, pure Consciousness, the Self of all, indivisible and immutable’ think this manner. There is neither I nor any other thing, only Brahman exists always full of bliss everywhere.’ — meditate this way. The sense of seer and seen is common to all but the Yogi worships the One Self. The Self is pure Consciousness, eternal, omnipresent, immutable and self-effulgent like the light of the sun. The omnipresent Self, the substratum of all, is non-different from the effulgent Consciousness like heat from fire. It can only be experienced (not known).
Pure Consciousness, the Supreme Self, illuminates all, the indivisible, pervading (everything) within and without, is the firm support of all. The Self is absolute Consciousness. It is pure awareness, undecaying, free from all ideas of acceptance or rejection and not limited by space, time or genus.
Just as the air in the universe pervades everything, so also the Self,
The Consciousness which exists in the expanse of earth, in the ornaments, in the sky and in the sun, also inside the worms lying in their shells under the earth. There is neither bondage nor liberation, neither duality nor non-duality. There is only Brahman / Consciousness. Awareness is Brahman; world is Brahman, various elements are Brahman; I am ; my enemy is Brahman; my friends and relatives are. The idea of a consciousness and an object of consciousness is bondage; freedom from it is liberation. Consciousness, the object of consciousness and everything else is the Self; this is the gist of all systems of philosophy.
There is only consciousness here; this universe is nothing but consciousness; you are consciousness; I am; the worlds are consciousness - is the conclusion.
That which exists and that which shines are all the Self; anything else which seems to shine does not (really) exist. Consciousness alone shines by itself. Ideas of knower and known are idle postulates.Supreme Bliss cannot be experienced through contact of the senses with their objects. The supreme state is that in which the mind is annihilated through one-pointed enquiry. Abandoning the ideas of seer, seen and sight along with latent desires (vasanas) of the past, we meditate on that Self which is the primal light that is the basis of sight. The Self shines by itself as the one boundless ocean of consciousness agitated by waves of thought.
Just as the ocean is nothing but water the entire world of things is nothing but consciousness filling all the quarters like the infinite space.
Brahman and space are alike as to their invisibility, all-pervasiveness and indestructibility, but Brahman is also consciousness. All this is truly Brahman; all this is Atman. Do not cut up Brahman into ‘I am one thing’ and ‘this is another. As soon as it is realized that Brahman is all- pervasive and indivisible this vast samsara is found to be the Supreme Lord.
One who realizes that everything is Brahman truly becomes Brahman
After eliminating everything as ‘not this’, ‘not this’, the Supreme Being (lit. state) which cannot be eliminated remains. Think ‘I am That’ and be happy
When one thinks ‘I am pure consciousness’ it is called meditation and when even the idea of meditation is forgotten it is samadhi. Just as a pillar is said to be devoid of the statue , when it has not actually been carved out, so also Brahman is said to be void when it is devoid of the impression of the world.
Just as still water may be said to contain or not contain ripples, so also Brahman may be said to contain or not contain the world. It is neither void nor existence.

THE THEORY OF SELF - Yoga Vashishta, - 1

The wise men are to be approached even if they do not teach. Even their talks in a light vein contain wisdom
The truth of life cannot be seen with the help of the sacred texts or the Guru. The self is seen by the Self alone with the pure intellect. All the arts acquired by men are lost by lack of practice, but this art of wisdom grows steadily once it rises. He is a happy man whose mind is inwardly cool and free from attachment and hatred and who looks upon this (world) like a mere spectator.
When pots, etc. are broken the space within them becomes unlimited. So also when bodies cease to exist the Self remains eternal and unattached. Nothing whatever is born or dies anywhere at any time. It is Brahman alone appearing illusorily in the form of the world.
The Self is more extensive than space; it is pure, subtle, undecaying and auspicious. As such how could it be born and how can it die?  All this is the tranquil, One without beginning, middle or end, which cannot be said to be existent or non-existent. Know this and be happy.
This creation, which is a mere play of consciousness, rises up, like the delusion of a snake in a rope (when there is ignorance) and comes to an end when there is right knowledge. Even though bondage does not really exist, it becomes strong through desire for worldly enjoyments; when this desire subsides bondage becomes weak.
Like waves rising up from the ocean the unstable mind rises out of the vast and stable expanse of the Supreme Self. It is because of that which always, of its own accord, imagines (everything) quickly and freely that this magical show (of the world) is projected in the waking state. This world, though unreal, appears to exist
and is the cause of life-long suffering to an ignorant. One who has no idea of gold sees only the bracelet.
He does not at all have the idea that it is merely gold. Similarly towns, houses, mountains, serpents, etc. are all in the eyes of the ignorant man, separate objects. From the absolute point of view; this objective (world) is the subject (the Self ) itself; it is not separate (from the Self ).
The world is full of misery to an ignorant man and full of bliss to a wise man. The world is dark to a blind man and bright to one who has eyes.
Just as the foam, the waves, the dew and the bubbles are not different from water, even so this world which has come out of the Self is not different from the Self. Just as a tree consisting of fruits, leaves, creepers, flowers, branches, twigs and roots, exists in the seed of the tree, even so this manifest world exists in Brahman.
Just as the pot (ultimately) goes back to mud, waves into water and ornaments into gold, so also this world which has come out of the Self (ultimately) goes back to the Self.
The snake appears when one does not recognize the rope; it disappears when one recognizes the rope. Even so this world appears when the Self is not recognized; it disappears when the Self is recognized. It is only our forgetfulness of the invisible Self which causes the world to appear just as (the ignorance of the) rope (causes the) snake to appear.
Just as the dream becomes unreal in the waking state and the waking state in the dream, so also death becomes unreal in birth and birth in death.

WHAT IS NOT WRITTEN IN HOLY QURAN

I agree that we must know the context of the Quran’s verses in order to follow Holy Quran. But disagree that one must be fluent in Quranic Arabic to have this reading . one is able to follow Quran & its contexts by reading qualified Muslim- Quranic scholars, , in English/Hindi and other languages. I consider myself to be at home in English, can in full-well understand Holy Quran.
Quran honors mankind as a vicegerent on earth 2:30 and all human are created in the best of moulds 95:4 and equal in creation without discriminating any race ethnicity, color or positions. The most righteous are in higher level than angels in the sight of God such as prophets, saints Quron 3/64
O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). -  Quran 49:13
Those who believe (in the Quran ), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians ,- any who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.  -Quran 2:62
Let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. ( Quran 5:8)
"We believe in God, and that which has been sent down to us, and sent down on Abraham and Ishmael, Isaac and Jacob, and the Tribes, and in that which was given to Moses and Jesus, and the Prophets, of their Lord; we make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we surrender ( Muslimun )-  Quran 3:83-84.
Good and evil are not alike Repel evil with what is better Then he, between whom and you there was hatred, will become as though he was a bosom friend" - Quran 41:34
*And then all those verses in Quran (I would not like to detail here but only refer ) that 1- those of other Religion than Islam, criticise and say that - 'Quran allows violence and 2- those in Muslims who support and interpret those verses in favour of killings and violence etc. ; both are mistaken and have their own ill- motive to defame the Quran . these verses are temporal in reference to particular time ,place and circumstances and are defensive rather than offensive . moreover these are not in accordance with spirit of teachings of Holy Quran .those ,therefore ,who refer these verses do not follow Quron in spirit but debate /discuss on words to show their ill-intentioned /fake scholarship ,in vain .
** And then again , " What is not written in Holy Quran " [read between the lines ] is crystal clear and this is as under -
This is NOT WRITTEN IN THE HOLY QURAN THAT ..........
1- kill those who are  not party /against you .
2- kill women and children who can neither defend themselves  nor fight  nor help .
3- kill  the innocents ,helpless, hapless ,ill and old .
4 - kill those who are Muslims as defined and declared in Quran  itself .
5 - kill those ,although not Muslims but by virtue of reason believe in One God  and Justice being done to them after death .
6-  kill  those who regard Islam as good and pious as his own religion .
7- kill those who accept Muhammad as  Prophet and Quran  as Holy /Great book .
** [not written in any Religion of the world and if any ,is not a Religion .]

GANDHIAN APPROACH TO RELIGION

I am a born Hindu ;when grew young/wise ,out of curiosity ,learned all most all chief Religion -Authority books or abstracts and see- when read Bible fully agreed to be a Christian and then Holy -Quran agreed to be Muslim ,read Bauddha took it to heart and thought to be Bauddha and then Jainism thought the best and Guru-Granth -Sahib ;the bare Truth and I have been changing myself from one Religion to other and finally landed -down to Hindu ,where I was born. I concluded that being Hindu ( without any change ); i can be at the same time sane Christian,Muslim ,Buddha and all said above.Neither I need to change myself nor wish others to change theirs .A Hindu needs to be better Hindu ,a Muslim a better Muslim ,a Christian a better ....and so on and so forth .
*The tragedy with us is that I am not a true Hindu but trying a Muslim to be Hindu and telling him that his religion is worst and Muslim is ....and so on .
It is an irony of history that Mahatma Gandhi, who led India to independence from British colonial rule in 1947, was shot dead at a prayer meeting on Jun 30, 1948 by Nathuram Godse,( who called himself Hindu like many other irrational and self-misguided chauvinists to this day, blame him and his philosophy of non-violence for the partition of the subcontinent into Muslim Pakistan and Hindu majority India).
In fact, it was Savarkar who was a staunch proponent of the idea that India consisted of two "nations" – Hindu and Muslim. Gandhi, on the other hand, agreed to the partition only because he saw the futility of resisting and was keen on avoiding bloodshed.
Who was Real Hindu -Gandhi or Godse ? It is said a fundamentalist Hindu killed Gandhi .What are the fundamentals of Hindu religion ? To kill Or To save ? violence or non-violence ? Godse killed a person who was not in fight ,had no weapons in his hands . this act of cowardice ,to kill a helpless -man who was going to pray is the worst kind of evil in Hinduism . Godse was not a Hindu ,never ,he was fanatic ,an extremist and to great surprise a very small group of misled people still call him Hindu and bare-faced support him .But it was Hindu majority honored Gandhi as Mahatma (the great Soul ) and the Father of Nation ,much before ,he was recognized as such in the whole world . Is there any way out to say or prove or twist that a real Hindu can ever kill like Godse (plz .compare the killings by Ashwsthama for which he was damned /cursed for ever in Mahabharat .)
Well, I think all extremists are fundamentalists (but not real fundamentalist But Fundamentalist in DISGUISE / Fake Fundamentalist or Camouflage in religion as the try to hide before the walls of Religions ), but not vice versa. that is the point I am trying to make, that it’s wrong to label violence caused by religion as the work of fundamentalists, rather than that of extremists and misuser of Religion . Fundamentalists, by that standard (so called ), may not be setting off bombs or killing infidels, but they’re supporting an environment that creates extremists, and allows them to believe it is right to do so. But no Religion in the world allows all this ,either in thought or in action .
Forbearance along with tolerance and non-violence in Hinduism, Non -violence in Jainism, Compassion in Buddhism, Equality with morality in Confucianism, Service with love in Christianity, Justice in Judaism, and Fraternity with charity in Islam are the fundamentals/cardinal virtues/ values respectively. Undoubtedly besides being excellent, all of them are complimentary to each other.I do not think how these fake people interpret their religions to allow violence and terrorism like fake currencies in the markets claiming to be more real .this is because our people are not properly educated and awakened .
"The Hypocrites - they think ,(they are fundamentalist and) they are over-reaching God, but He will over-reach them: When they stand up to prayer, they stand without earnestness, to be seen of men, but little do they hold God in remembrance; (The Noble Quran, 4:142)"
One of the tenets of Jainism is ahimsa, nonviolence, which explicitly states ‘cause no harm to living beings’. Following this basic belief, it is nearly impossible to justify combative or belligerent behavior on religious grounds.
The more fundamental one becomes following this path, the more nonviolent one should become, to the point in which zealous practitioners might carry around brooms to constantly sweep so as not to inadvertently step on, and subsequently kill, small creatures.
I am greatly shocked to note that all most all the scholars of different religions ( so called Religious Leaders or thinkers ) are amost busy to prove the other religion as the way to hell .I say ,with all humility - follow yours , learn your and teach your and know the best that all the religions say the same thing to make a Virtuous -Man ,non-violent ,helping ,kind , feeling oneness with others and goodness . Every common man knows this all - follow yourself and teach others to follow -to bring these good things in action .
*Gandhi was the one and the first in twentieth century who took the different religions in right and just spirit and he did not teach/preach or advertise (as he claimed none of these )but lived and behaved in his own life and actions .Leaders of different religions must learn the lesson that follow your religion ,enrich it but respect others as your .

TODAY all our leaders and officers are busy in gathering money by CORRUPT-QUICK -RICH -METHODS . fie ! to them all .

Be aware of Hypocrites in Rligion - posted on my blog
" Shame arises from the fear of men, conscience from the fear of God.”
Fear only two: God, and the man who has no fear of God.”

BEAWARE OF HYPOCRITES IN RELIGIONS

Forbearance along with tolerance [both complimentary to non-violence] in Hinduism, Ahimsa ( Non -violence ) in Jainism, Compassion [Karuna] in Buddhism, Unity in Zoroastrianism, Equality [with morality] in Confucianism, Service [with love] in Christianity, Justice in Judaism, Fraternity in Islam and Valour in Sikhism emerged as their principal values respectively. Undoubtedly besides being excellent, all of them are complimentary to each other.
"So woe to the worshipers Who are neglectful Of their Prayers, Those who (want but) To be seen (of men), But refuse (to supply) (Even) neighbourly needs. (The Noble Quran, 107:4-7)"
"The Hypocrites - they think they are over-reaching God, but He will over-reach them: When they stand up to prayer, they stand without earnestness, to be seen of men, but little do they hold God in remembrance; (The Noble Quran, 4:142)"
In a nut shell, this is what a hypocrite is in Islam. A hypocrite is a "Muslim". He is not an apostate (murtadd), nor is he a polytheist or idol worshiper (mushrik), nor is he an atheist (mulhid). A hypocrite does declare Islam as his religion, and in some cases even prays to GOD Almighty and fasts the month of Ramadan. Not everyone who Prays to Allah Almighty, however, is a good Muslim. Allah Almighty said:
The saying of Noble Quran is absolutely true to all Religions - it is Hindu who goes Hypocrite and those who claim to be real Hindu become reactionary (Godashe killed Gandhi ) ;Buddha is worshiped as God and the followers of Buddha today hoarding wealth by fowl means ,fighting among them ; Jains -some live unclad and some cover their mouths and have become very conservative and infighters .many of Popes and Pandits /Swamis are busy in all type of immoral activities including sex and sex perversions . It has become very doubting to a person to get a real and true leader in the field of Religion .
Therefore follow the teaching of - directly what Buddha said ;what Jesus/Bible says ; What Quran Says and What Vedant says with the ADVICE of Lord Bauddha as under --
First, rely on the spirit and meaning of the teachings,
not on the words;
Second, rely on the teachings,
not on the personality of the teacher;
Third, rely on real wisdom,
not superficial interpretation;
And fourth, rely on the essence of your pure Wisdom Mind,
not on judgmental perceptions.
Buddha was dying,
Ananda asked
who would be their teacher after death.
He replied -

"Be lamps unto yourselves.
Be refuges unto yourselves.
Take yourself no external refuge.
Hold fast to the truth as a lamp.
Hold fast to the truth as a refuge.
But they must be anxious to learn."
One of his students asked Buddha, "Are you the messiah?"
"No", answered Buddha.
"Then are you a healer?"
"No", Buddha replied.
"Then are you a teacher?" the student persisted.
"No, I am not a teacher."
"Then what are you?" asked the student, exasperated.
"I am awake", Buddha replied.
Believe in the Bible, and Jesus Christ as your personal Lord don't believe in the corruption that is taking place... in some churches and by some popes .
I say to my children “do as I say, not as I do.” And when there isn’t one-to-one correspondence between our actions and our words, that’s hypocrisy.
. “Darmo Dharyate Praja.” adopting ‘Goodness’ and ‘Righteousness’.
“The best way to show that a stick is crooked is not to argue about it or to spend time denouncing it, but to lay a straight stick alongside it.”
– D. L. Moody
“When you shoot an arrow of truth, dip its point in honey.”

THE GANDHIAN WAY .

If you want to be Gandhian in your actions and life (practical only ),you will have to follow eleven vows of Gandhi without any fail and any thought ,action or behaviour that goes against these vows ,means that you fail Gandhi . Any action of any person or group can be justified ,verified ,tested and approved by these vows fallowed not in words but in spirit and if any thing goes against or deviates a little ,one falls down from the rope of life like an acrobat and can not call it Gandhian . But it is the simplest way and there is no chance of doubt or failure if you are sincere (honest ) ''ज्ञान क पंथ कृपान क धारा : परत खगेश न लागहिं बारा '' (Tulasi in Ramcharit Manas ); means - the way of knowledge is like the blade of sword and needs no frequency to cut the things that are put on . So is the Gandhian way .
These eleven are  --   (as Gandhi thinks and writes )
1- Satya (Truth)
Truth has no form. Therefore everyone one will form such an idea or image of Truth as appeals to him, and there will be as many images of Truth as there are men. These will be true as long as they last. For they enable a man to obtain everything he wants. - Diary of Mahadevbhai, p. 120 .
Truth should be Truth in thought, Truth in speech, and Truth in action. To the man who has realised this Truth in its fulness , nothing else remains to be known, because all knowledge is necessarily included in it. What is not included in it, is not truth and so not true knowledge. - From Yeravda Mandir, p. 2.
2- Ahimsa (Nonviolence)Ahimsa is not merely a negative state of harmlessness , but it is positive state of love , of doing good even to the evil-doer. - Young India,August 25, 1920
Ahimsa is a weapon of matchless potency. It is the summum bonum of life. It is an attribute of the brave, in fact, it is their all. It does not come within the reach of coward. It is no wooden or lifeless dogma, but a living and life giving force. - Young India, Sept 6, 1926.
Ahimsa is not the way of the timid or cowardly. It is the way of the brave ready to face death. He who perishes sword in hand is no doubt brave; but he who faces death without raising his little finger and without flinching, is braver. - Young India, Oct. 11, 1928
3- Asteya (Non-stealing)
Non-stealing does not mean merely not to steal. To keep or take anything  which one does not is also stealing. And of course, stealing is fraught with violence.- Bapu-ke-Aashirvad, November 24, 1944.
We are not always aware of our real needs, and most of us improperly multiply our wants and thus , unconsciously, make thieves of ourselves. One who follows the observance of Non-stealing will bring about a progressive reduction of his own wants. Much of the distressing poverty in this world has risen out of the breaches of the principle of Non-stealing.- From Yeravda Mandir, p. 20.
4- Brahmacharya (Self Discipline)
Brahamchraya means control of all the organs of sense. He who attempts to control only one organ, and allows all the others free play is bound to find his effort futile . To hear suggestive stories with the ears, to see suggestive sights with the eyes, to taste stimulating food with the tongue, to touch exciting things with the hands, and at the same time to expect to control the only remaining organ, is like putting one's hands in the fire and expecting to escape being hurt. Bapu's letters to Mira. P.257.
5- Aparigraha (Non-possession)Non possession means that we should not hoard anything that we do not need today. - Bapu-ke-Aashirvad, Nov. 25,1944.
The less you possess, the less you want , the better you are. And better for what ? Not for your enjoyment of this life but for enjoyment of personal service to your fellow beings ; service to which you dedicate yourself ,body, soul and mind. - Mahatma Vol. 3, p.155. When you dispossess yourself of everything you have, you really possess all the treasures of the world. In other words , you really get all that is in reality necessary for you., everything . If the food is necessary, food will come to you.- My Philosophy of Life, p. 138. 6- Sharirshrama (Bread Labour) Earn thy bread by the sweat of the brow- says Bible . Bread labour means that everyone is expected to perform sufficient body-labour in order to entitle him to his living. It is not ,therefore, necessary to earn one's living by bread labour ,taking living' in its broader sense. But everyone must perform some useful body-labour. Young India, Nov. 5, 1925.
The economics of Bread labour are the living way of life . It means that every man has to labour with his body for his food and clothing. If I can convince the people of the value and necessity of bread-labour, there never will be any want of bread and cloth. - Harijan, Sept. 7, 1947.
7- Aswada (Control of the Palate)Unless we are satisfied with foods that are necessary for the proper maintenance of our physical health, and unless we are prepare to rid ourselves of stimulating heating and exciting condiments that we mixed with food. We will certainly not be able to control the over-abundant, unnecessary, and exciting stimulation that we may have. If we do not do that, the result naturally is that we abuse ourselves, and become less than animals and brutes. - Speeches & Writings of Mahatma Gandhi. p. 384
The diet should be healthy and well-balanced. The body was never meant to be treated as a refuse-bin. Food is meant to sustain the body. - My Philosophy of Life.p.111
 8- Sarvatra Bhayavarjana (Fearlessness)
Fearlessness should connote absence of all kinds of fear - fear of death, fear of bodily injury, fear of hunger, fear of insults, fear of public disapprobation, fear of ghosts and evil spirits, fear of anyone's anger. Freedom from all these and other such fears constitute fearlessness. - Bapu - Ke Ashirwad. Nov 26, 1944
9-  Sarva Dharma Samantva (Equality of the religions)
Religions have been interwoven . One sees a special quality in every one of them . But no one religion is higher than another. All are complimentary to one another .Since this is my belief, the speciality of any one religion cannot run counter to another, cannot be at variance with universally accepted principles. - Harijanbandhu, March 19, 1933.
were necessary for the people to whom these religions were revealed. And I believe that, if only we could all of us read the scriptures of the different faiths from the standpoint of the followers of those faiths we should find that they were at bottom all one and were all helpful to one another.- Harijan, Feb. 16, 1934 .
10-  Swadeshi (Use Locally Made Goods)
Swadeshi is that sprit in us which requires us to serve our immediate neighbours before others , and to use things produced in our neighbourhood in preference to those more remote. So doing, we cannot serve humanity to the best of our capacity, we cannot serve humanity by neglecting our neigbours. - Young India, April 20 1919.My definition of Swadeshi is well known . I must not serve my distant neighbour at the expense of the nearest. It is never vindictive or punitive. It is in no sense narrow , for I buy from every part of the world what is needed for my growth. I refuse to buy from anybody anything, however nice or beautiful, if it interferes with my growth or  injures those whom Nature has made my first care. - Young India, March 12, 1925
11- Sparshbhavna (Untouchability)
Untouchability means pollution by the touch of certain persons in reason of their birth in a particular state or family. It is an excrescence. In the guise of religion, it is always in the way, and erupts religion. - From Yeravda Mandir, p. 31 Removal of untouchability means love for, and service of, the whole world and thus merges into Ahimsa. Removal of untouchability spells the breaking down of barriers between man and man and between the various orders of Being. -From Yeravda Mandir,

सोहमस्मि I am ' HE '

If Thou wouldst see Him with each breath think of Him. Burn thy pride and smear thy body with its ashes; take up the broom of love and with it wipe out the distinctions of me and thee; reduce the notion of duality to dust and sprinkle it on thy prayer carpet; leave the carpet, break up the rosary, throw the sacred books in the river, seek the help of angels and be their servant; do not fast nor keep ramzan, do not go to the mosque nor make obeisances; break to pieces the water jar for prayer cleansing and drink the wine of the joy of union; eat and drink but never be off thy guard; enjoy thy intoxication1 The source here is indistinct. continuously; burn thy egotism. Be neither Mulla nor Brahmin; leave duality and worship Him alone. Shah Kalandar has proclaimed: say, ‘I am He’. Mad Mansur says: My heart has known truth, that is the wine shop of the intoxicated, make that the object of thy visit.

O Pushan! O Sun, sole traveller of the heavens, controller of all, son of Prajapati, withdraw Thy rays and gather up Thy burning effulgence. Now through Thy Grace I behold Thy blessed and glorious form. The Purusha (Effulgent Being) who dwells within Thee, I am He. Here the sun, who is the giver of all light, is used as the symbol of the Infinite, giver of all wisdom. The seeker after Truth prays to the Effulgent One to control His dazzling rays, that his eyes, no longer blinded by them, may behold the Truth. Having perceived It, he proclaims: “Now I see that that Effulgent Being and I are one and the same, and my delusion is destroyed.” By the light of Truth he is able to discriminate between the real and the unreal, and the knowledge thus gained convinces him that he is one with the Supreme; that there is no difference between himself and the Supreme Truth; or as Christ said, “I and my Father are one.”

# I tried to find Him on the Christian cross, but He was not there I went to the Temple of the Hindus and to the old pagodas, but I could not find a trace of Him anywhere. I searched on the mountains and in the valleys but neither in the heights nor in the depths was I able to find Him. I went to the Caaba in Mecca, but He was not there either. I questioned the scholars and philosophers but He was beyond their understanding. I then looked into my heart and it was there where He dwelled that I saw Him He was nowhere else to be found. -  Jalal ud-Din Rumi.

DO NOT BE A FAN

INDIAN - CULTURE  and thought has an idea to have an IDEAL viz.- Ram , Krishna  , Bauddha  and Gandhi  ; the BEST of men  and to follow them and their ideals to raise our lives like them but we never had the idea of fanship (borrowed from west). Fanship  is worse than slavery as it treats other one as superior . this is also against the idea of   ' all born equal '.in this Universe even a blade of grass is unique . (never compare the word 'fan ' with  respect , honour , reverence and like )
Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT! Do not be a fan . be a friend ; a follower ; leader ; teacher ; learner ; adviser ; counsellor ; guide BUT NOT A FAN (because most unwise for a MAN to be fan). play any game in your life ,small or smaller but never be vicarious .(watching the game of others and not playing yourself )YOU HAVE A LIFE OF YOURS AND TRY TO PLAY IT , THIS WAY OR THAT WAY . DO NOT BE A 'fan'
You can praise any one , raise him , encourage him but do not make a *mirage of him ( *an effect caused by hot air in deserts or on roads, that makes you think you can see something, such as water, which is not there or a hope or wish that you cannot make happen because it is not realistic ) . To be fan is to be nothing ,to loose one's own identity , existence . who failed everywhere went to be a fan . You can have a person as an Ideal to act upon not to worship to learn only from a great man ,how did he become great ? how you can follow him and make your life sublime . to be fan is only a fun for nothing . "Life is real ,life is earnest " it is not fun and fanship. DO NOT BE a 'fan ' but a REAL MAN .
Every one of us has in him many things ,thoughts and potentials still unknon & undiscovered . Be Columbus to your own self-potentials as a continent .Do not waste your time and energy in watching at others on work but avail your own opportunity that you have today (blessings on you today). do not regret that has happened nor wait tomorrow that does not come , act upon today .
All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self-contradictory. I was naive(*lacking experience of life, knowledge or good judgment and willing to believe that people always tell you the truth ). I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer. It took me a long time and much painful *boomeranging of my expectations to achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with: that I am nobody but myself. ~Ralph Ellison, "Battle Royal" (*a weapon hat may cause unexpected harm to the user himself )

OF INDIA ( On Indepence Day )

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action--
Into that heaven of freedom, my father, let my country awake.
Rabindranath Tagore ( Gitanjali )
*Long years ago, we made a tryst with destiny and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge... At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.
*We end today a period of ill fortune and India discovers herself again. The achievement we celebrate today is but a step, an opening of opportunity, to the greater triumphs and achievements that await us. Are we brave enough and wise enough to grasp this opportunity and accept the challenge of the future?
*At the dawn of history India started on her unending quest, and trackless centuries are filled with her striving and the grandeur of her success and her failures. Through good and ill fortune alike she has never lost sight of that quest or forgotten the ideals which gave her strength.
Jawaharlal Nehru
"How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master's bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done."
Mahatma Gandhi
We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made!
Albert Einstein
If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India!
Romaine Rolland, French scholar
India is the cradle of the human race, the birthplace of human speech, the mother of history, the grandmother of legend, and the great grand mother of tradition. Our most valuable and most astrictive materials in the history of man are treasured up in India only!
Mark Twain
She (India) has left indelible imprints on one fourth of the human race in the course of a long succession of centuries. She has the right to reclaim ... her place amongst the great nations summarizing and symbolizing the spirit of humanity. From Persia to the Chinese sea, from the icy regions of Siberia to Islands of Java and Borneo, India has propagated her beliefs, her tales, and her civilization!
Sylvia Levi
India conquered and dominated China culturally for 20 centuries without ever having to send a single soldier across her border!
Hu Shih, former Ambassador of China to USA
So far as I am able to judge, nothing has been left undone, either by man or nature, to make India the most extraordinary country that the sun visits on his rounds. Nothing seems to have been forgotten, nothing overlooked.
Mark Twain
If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life, and has found solutions, I should point to India.
Max Mueller, German scholar
This is indeed India! The land of dreams and romance, of fabulous wealth and fabulous poverty, of splendour and rags, of palaces and hovels, of famine and pestilence, of genii and giants and Aladdin lamps, of tigers and elephants, the cobra and the jungle, the country of hundred nations and a hundred tongues, of a thousand religions and two million gods, cradle of the human race, birthplace of human speech, mother of history, grandmother of legend, great-grandmother of traditions, whose yesterday's bear date with the modering antiquities for the rest of nations-the one sole country under the sun that is endowed with an imperishable interest for alien prince and alien peasant, for lettered and ignorant, wise and fool, rich and poor, bond and free, the one land that all men desire to see, and having seen once, by even a glimpse, would not give that glimpse for the shows of all the rest of the world combined.
Mark Twain
When I read the Bhagavad-Gita and reflect about how God created this universe everything else seems so superfluous.
Albert Einstein
India - The land of Vedas, the remarkable works contain not only religious ideas for a perfect life, but also facts which science has proved true. Electricity, radium, electronics, airship, all were known to the seers who founded the Vedas.
Wheeler Wilcox, American poet
India was the motherland of our race, and Sanskrit the mother of Europe's languages: she was the mother of our philosophy; mother, through the Arabs, of much of our mathematics; mother, through the Buddha, of the ideals embodied in Christianity; mother, through the village community, of self-government and democracy. Mother India is in many ways the mother of us all.
Will Durant, American historian
So far as I am able to judge, nothing has been left undone, either by man or nature, to make India the most extraordinary country that the sun visits on his rounds. Nothing seems to have been forgotten, nothing overlooked.
Mark Twain
There are some parts of the world that, once visited, get into your heart and won't go. For me, India is such a place. When I first visited, I was stunned by the richness of the land, by its lush beauty and exotic architecture, by its ability to overload the senses with the pure, concentrated intensity of its colors, smells, tastes, and sounds... I had been seeing the world in black & white and, when brought face-to-face with India, experienced everything re-rendered in brilliant technicolor.
Keith Bellows, VP - National Geographic Society
India has two million gods, and worships them all. In religion all other countries are paupers; India is the only millionaire.
Mark Twain

TULASI TO GANDHI - 2

Shun those people as enemies who are not devoted to Rama and Sita, be they ever so good friends. (For Him), Prahlad left his father, Bibhishana his brother, Bharata his mother, Bali his teacher, the women of Vraj their husbands and they all rejoiced (in their sacrifice).
A friend is desirable only so long as he is attached and devoted to Rama. What more need I say, what is the use of the eye-powder that destroys the eyes? Tulsi says: In my opinion, he who is devoted to the feet of Rama is in every respect my friend worthy of love and dear as life itself.
O Raghuvir, my shame is Thy shame. I am ever seeking Thy protection and Thou art noted as protector of the weak. I have heard it said of Thee that it is Thy promise that Thou wouldst save sinners. And I am an old sinner; take my ship ashore. To destroy the sin of Thy devotees and to remove their distress is Thy only task. Be merciful, O Lord, to Tulsidas, and give him the boon of Thy worship
I have spoiled everything hitherto but will do so no longer. By the grace of God the night is past, I am awake and shall no more go to sleep. I have the talisman in the shape of God’s name; it shall not vanish from my heart. The beautiful and holy face of God is the testing stone. The gold of my heart shall be tested on it. My sense organs finding me without control have mocked me. I have now acquired self-control, they shall no more deride me. Tulsi says: My mind like the bee on the lotus shall lean on the lotus feet of Rama.
O Madhav! there is none on this earth in every way so low, corrupt, beggarly and steeped in vice like me and I am in distress having left Thee, God, so merciful without cause, so friendly to the afflicted; why dost Thou not show mercy to me? It is not Thy fault, I know it is all of my doing. O Lord, thou gavest me a body through which I could know Thee but notwithstanding that I did not know Thee, The bamboo and the karil vainly blame the sandal and the spring (the one for want of scent and the other for want of leaves), being unworthy and unfortunate how could the one have scent and the other leaves? I am convinced that I am hard of heart in every way and Thou, O Lord, art tender. Tulsidas says: God! my bondage can be broken only by Thy mercy
In the Kaliyuga Ramanama is the all-yielding tree. It is the destroyer of scorching miseries caused by bad times, pauperism, etc. Repeating the name purifies the mind and banishes misfortune. Valmiki and Shanker sing the virtues of taking the name whether correctly or with the letters transposed. It is well here and hereafter with those who are armed with the beautiful power (of the name). Tulsi says: I am able to live in the world peacefully by the power of the name, I have no anxiety whether I live or die. ( Translated by  MK Gandhi )
