" BUTTERFLY EFFECT "

I would like to refer Theory of Butterfly -Effect at the moment we consider over-
1- Importance of small actions in deciding life-achievements .
2- Initiatives even at thought level (motivation & attitudes .)
3- Interdependence of events & universe .
4- Theory of Action & Fate at large . Theory of Cause & Effect at large .
5- Oneness of the Universe & interdependence .
* A note /summary of BUTTERFLY EFFECT is given for your understanding -
Term "butterfly effect" itself is related to the work of *Edward Lorenz, and is based in chaos theory and sensitive dependence on initial conditions, already described in the literature in a particular case of the three-body problem by Henri Poincaré in 1890. The idea that one butterfly could eventually have a far-reaching ripple effect on subsequent historic events . Lorenz made the term popular. In 1961, Lorenz was using a numerical computer model to rerun a weather prediction, when, as a shortcut on a number in the sequence, he entered the decimal .506 instead of entering the full .506127 the computer would hold. The result was a completely different weather scenario.Lorenz published his findings in a 1963 paper for the New York Academy of Sciences noting that "One meteorologist remarked that if the theory were correct, one flap of a seagull's wings could change the course of weather forever." Later speeches and papers by Lorenz used the more poetic butterfly. A butterfly’s wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?, Although a butterfly flapping its wings has remained constant in the expression of this concept, the location of the butterfly, the consequences, and the location of the consequences have varied widely .
The phrase refers to the idea that a butterfly's wings might create tiny changes in the atmosphere that may ultimately alter the path of a tornado or delay, accelerate or even prevent the occurrence of a tornado in a certain location. The flapping wing represents a small change in the initial condition of the system, which causes a chain of events leading to large-scale alterations of events. Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different. While the butterfly does not "cause" the tornado in the sense of providing the energy for the tornado, it does "cause" it in the sense that the flap of its wings is an essential part of the initial conditions resulting in a tornado, and without that flap that particular tornado would not have existed.

*Edward Norton Lorenz(1917-2008) U.S. meteorologist. Following degrees from Dartmouth College and Harvard University in mathematics, he turned to weather forecasting in 1942 with the U.S. Army Air Corps. After World War II he joined MIT as a researcher, earned a doctorate in meteorology (1948), and stayed on as a professor. In the early 1960s, he discovered that the weather exhibits a nonlinear phenomenon known as sensitive dependence on initial conditions (see **chaos theory). He explained this phenomenon, which makes long-range weather forecasting impossible, to the public as the "butterfly effect": in China a butterfly flaps its wings, leading to unpredictable changes in U.S. weather .

** chaos theory -Mathematical theory that describes chaotic behavior in a complex system. Applications include the study of turbulent flow in fluids, irregularities in biological systems, population dynamics, chemical reactions, plasma physics, meteorology, the motions of groups and clusters of stars, transportation dynamics, and many other fields.

SCRAPS SENT TO FRIENDS ON WISDOM OF VEDANT

**Advanced in vision treat equally - well-wishers,friends ,neutral ,middle-men ,envious ,kins ,saints and vicious. -Gita 6/9
Good work done with bad intentions inevitably leads to failure. That is why one should refrain from evil tendencies. The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect and to all men, charity, love and service that they need & deserve . The best way to be enemy-less is to make all enemies friends . Thank God - you have no enemy ,no dispute and no rule to follow. Try to keep above all these ills . To do all this prayer with humility is required . May God help us .
**Vedant teaches that different faiths are paths to same destination. A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw upon him. He who submits to discipline is a disciple . Happiness depends on what you can give, Not what you receive . Moksha' is not `Freedom from Action' but, perfection in Action'. Your happiness lies in you never in others . The wise have happiness wherever they are . Handle yourself, use the head, but to others, use the heart. Seek the Lord... In the smiles of your friends, In the glow of angry eyes, In flowers and destitute . He is everywhere, in everything.
God is not property of any one religion, God is too big to be confined in any one faith. How can one limit the Unlimited? All churches and temples are in Him.He belongs to all, we to Him. Each one projects his own God and is right as all existence is God The wicked sees this world as hell but good as heaven. The perfect man sees nothing but God.
The first peace, which is the most important, that which comes from within the souls of us when we realize that our relationship our oneness with the Universe and all its powers, and when we realize that at the center of the Universe ,dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere for, It is within each of us and in each and every thing that exists . What exists is Truth (Sat ) Conscious (Chit ) and Bliss (Anand ) ; ONE having three aspects .

CREATE YOUR OWN WORLD .

We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same.
Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not on Universal /Scientific/Moral facts.
Religions are many and diverse, but reason and goodness are one.
We believe that an ethical faith need not, and indeed cannot, be grounded in any one way. It is not that we are indifferent to questions about the ultimate nature and meaning of things. Far from it. It is that we believe the universe far too vast to be comprehended in its inner-most core or in its totality by any one person or by all people together. It is that we believe there is room for a great many differing interpretations of everything that is, and still may be. It is that we believe the justification of any religious faith, including an ethical faith.
Our Vedant says - " Wit lies in recognizing the resemblance among things which differ and the difference between things which are alike." Again in Bhgwadgitaa Lord krishna says " The humble sages, by virtue of true knowledge, see with equal vision a learned and gentle brāhmaṇa, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater विद्याविनयसम्पन्ने ब्राह्मणे गवि हस्तिनि | शुनि चैव श्वपाके च पण्डिताः समदर्शिनः ||५-१८|| (Chapter 05 verse 18)A person is considered still further advanced when he regards honest well-wishers, affectionate benefactors, the neutral, mediators, the envious, friends and enemies, the pious and the sinners all with an equal mind.
सुहृन्मित्रार्युदासीनमध्यस्थद्वेष्यबन्धुषु | साधुष्वपि च पापेषु समबुद्धिर्विशिष्यते ||६-९|| (ibid 6/9)
Insight, I believe, refers to the depth of understanding that comes by setting experiences, yours and mine, familiar and exotic, new and old, side by side, learning by letting them speak to one another.
Aadi shankarachary says - '' this life is false ;Truth is SOUL(Atma )
Omar khaiyaam says -this life is True ; once gone ,never to return .
Alexendar The GREAT tried to win the whole world by weapons .
Lord Bauddha did it with renunciation ,compassion and love .
Jain Prophet Mhavir is called greatest warrior as he won over his senses .
Hanuman is Mahavir (greatest warrior )because of his services to society through Lord Ram .
Bali ,Karna and Dadhici enjoyed their lives in Charity .
One says poverty is curse the other talks of miseries of Riches .
Jesus says - '' blessed are those who are poor .
Marx says - '' all poor men of the world unite to have the power .
NOW too much of such differences in thoughts and views let us conclude .
** THE MOMENT YOU CHANGE YOUR THOUGHT ; THE WORLD / WAY TO LIFE /SOCIAL NORMS AND VALUES CHANGE.
** The person who is on the throne /chair is king/ruler in our visual world but ** THE OTHERs few say THE KING AMONG KINGS, IS HE WHO NEEDS NOTHING ;WISH-LESS ;DESIRE-LESS AND CARE-LESS ( of said world-king former)

RAM CHARIT MANAS 05

In the 16th century, the beloved Hindu poet Tulsi Das composed a new, Hindi version of the Ramayana called the Rama Charita Manasa. An updated version was necessary because most people could no longer understand Sanskrit, the language of the original poem. Mahatma Gandhi considered the Rama Charita Manasa the single greatest book in the world.
This book has immortalized Tulsidas as a great poet, philosopher, and devotee of Lord Ram. He was hailed as a great sage of his times. It is said that Raja Man Singh and Raja Todar Mal waited on him.
"Keep the name of Rama always in your mind, remembering it with love. It will feed you when you're alone. bless you when you feel cursed, and protect you when you're abandoned. To the crippled it's another limb. To the blind it's another eye. To the orphaned it's a loving parent. Whenever I remember Rama's name, the desert of my heart blooms lush and
"From every sentence rRAM CHARI MANAS deep, original and sublime thoughts arise, and the whole is pervaded by a high and holy and earnest spirit...."In the whole world there is no study so beneficial and so elevating as that of the RCM. They are destined sooner or later to become the faith of the people."
"When Confucius and the Indian Scriptures were made known, no claim to monopoly of ethical wisdom could be thought of" Emerson joyfully proclaimed ''The most beautiful, perhaps the only true philosophical verses existing in any known tongue ....perhaps the deepest and loftiest thing the world has to show."
"He (Rama) is the type of a perfect husband, son, and brother. Sita also rises in character far above Helen and even above Penelope, both in her sublime devotion and loyalty to her husband, and her indomitable patience and endurance under suffering and temptation.....it may be affirmed generally that the whole tone of the Ramayana is certainly above that of the Iliad."
(source: Eminent Orientalists).
"If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered over the greatest problems of life, and has found solutions of some of them which well deserve the attention even of those who have studied Plato and Kant, I should point to India." And if I were to ask myself from what literature we who have been nurtured almost exclusively on the thoughts of Greeks and Romans, and of the Semitic race, the Jewish, may draw the corrective which is most wanted in order to make our inner life more perfect, more comprehensive, more universal, in fact more truly human a life...again I should point to India."
(source: The World's Religions - By Huston Smith.)
Prof Max Mueller, an authority on ancient India, says: "I do not deny that the manly vigor, the public spirit and the private virtues of the citizens of European states represent one side of the human destiny." But, surely, he asserts, "there is another side to our nature and possibly another destiny open to man."
And he points to India, "Where the climate was mild and the soil fertile." He asks: "Was it not, I say, natural then, that another side of human nature should be developed — not the active, the combative and acquisitive, but the passive, the meditative and reflective?"

RAM CHARIT MANAS -04

All that is well approved and useful essence taken from various Purans (Old Scripts)
Vedas ,Nigam [knowledge by deduction ], Ramayan in Sanskrit by great Poet Valmiki and some contribution from other sources including himself Tulasi for his own gratification and internal peace and pleasure composes the life-story of Lord Ram in eloquent local language .
।7।।(RCM Balkand seventh verse)

Like Ramanuja, Tulsi believes in a supreme personal God, possessing all gracious qualities (sadguna), as well as in the quality-less (nirguna) neuter impersonal Brahman of Sankaracharya; this Lord Himself once took the human form, and became incarnate, for the blessing of mankind, as Rama. The body is therefore to be honored, not despised. The Lord is to be approached by faith (bhakti) disinterested devotion and surrender of self in perfect love, and all actions are to be purified of self-interest in contemplation of Him. Show love to all creatures, and thou wilt be happy; for when thou lovest all things, thou lovest the Lord, for He is all in all. The soul is from the Lord, and is submitted in this life to the bondage of works (karma); Mankind, in their obstinacy, keep binding themselves in the net of actions, and though they know and hear of the bliss of those who have faith in the Lord, they don't attempt the only means of release. The bliss to which the soul attains, by the extinction of desire, in the supreme home, is not absorption in the Lord, but union with Him in abiding individuality. This is emancipation (mukti) from the burden of birth and rebirth, and the highest happiness. Tulsi, as a Saryupareen Brahmin, venerates the whole Hindu pantheon, and is especially careful to give Shiva or Mahadeva, the special deity of the Brahmins, his due, and to point out that there is no inconsistency between devotion to Rama and attachment to Shiva (Ramayana, Lankakanda, Doha 3). But the practical end of all his writings is to inculcate bhakti addressed to Rama as the great means of salvation and emancipation from the chain of births and deaths, a salvation which is as free and open to men of the lowest caste as to Brahmins.

However it is important to understand that for Tulsidas "doctrine" is not so important. Far more relevant is practise, the practise of repeating Rama-Nama, the name of the Rama. In fact, Tulsidas goes as far as to say that the name of Rama is bigger than Rama Himself (कहउँ नामु बड़ राम तें निज बिचार अनुसार, [4]). Why is the name of Rama bigger than Rama? Because "Rama" is a mantra, a sound, the repetition of which can lead one to higher states of consciousness. Thus it is not Rama that "saves", but the name of Rama. Because the name itself contains Lord Rama himself in it. Rama itself means the one which is present in every atom of this universe (Ramta sakal jahan).

The literary worth of Tulsidas has been highlighted by Acharya Ram Chandra Shukla in his critical work Hindi Sahitya Ka Itihaas.Acharya Shukla has elaborated Tulsi's Lokmangal as the doctrine for social upliftment which made this great poet immortal and comparable to any other world littérateur.

RAM CHARIT MANAS - 03

Here i would like to refer the story of exile of Ram and dialouge between Kaikeyee and Ram that shows the great and unique character of Ram in the circumstances that one day earlier he was told that he will be enthroned as king of Ayodhya that was his right but the next morning he was asked to go to forest for fourteen long years in accordance to obey his father .
'' having communicated the whole incident to Ram Kaikeyee sat like the very incarnation of heartlessness . the son of Solar dynasty Shri Ram foundation of joy by nature smiled within himself and spoke words which were very free from all blemish and were so sweet and agreeable that they seemed to be the very ornament of speech - ; listen ! mother , that son alone is blessed who is devoted to the words of his parents is rare in this world .
In the forest I shall get more frequent opportunity of meeting great hermits that would be beneficial to me by all means but more over on the top of it , I would be fulfilling the command of my father and sweet desire of yours'
To add again the most loving to me , my brother Bharat will rule the country (as more deserving and competent because the crown was given to me as I was elder as the right ) ** Ram has earlier said that this system was a bad precedent in dynasty and the ruler should be as according to merit not being elder.
If I do not go to forest and avail this opportunity history will call me worst-fool among fools and a person who selected caster-oil tree than to divine -tree(kalptaru ) and preferred poison than to nectar (amrit ).
This (Exile ) is , I think ,not the reason as very common and I fear I have committed some serious mistake , that my father does not want to disclose
** English version of Hindi original text given below from RAM charit Manas .

RAM CHARIT MANAS 02

Tales from India's most popular epic told in a way that they seem interesting and engrossing for the youth.
The Ram Charit Manas[RCM ] is one of the most popular epics of the land. The tired farmer sings it to the accompaniment of the simple drum. The savants, to bring forth the acme of human behavior sing it. It is studied by the erudite for its faultless meter and lofty philosophy. It is quoted as a gospel, both by the good and the cunning. It is a textbook that is being taught to the young in school and the same is the source material for him, who seeks a doctorate in literature.
There is magic in its pages. When studied as a social science, it helps a sincere student to grasp the acme of human behavior. It has the most wonderful description of the nature presented in poetic form.
The stories of the RCM contain in their suggestive depth the highest knowledge available to the mind of the mankind - the knowledge that the German philosopher Schopenhauer called the highest reach of the human intellect.
RCM is the excellent piece of work in Hindi literature. RCM of Goswami Tulasidas enjoys a unique place among the classics of the world literature. It is one of the best Epic - Poems of the world.
RCM bestows upon its readers the gifts of Devotion (bhakti), Divine Knowledge (Gyan)
As a person, Shri Rama personifies the characteristics of an ideal person[THE BEST AMONG MEN ] who is to be emulated. He had within him all the desirable virtues that any individual would seek to aspire. For example, he gave up his rightful claim to the throne, and agreed to go into exile (vanvas) for fourteen years, to fulfil the vow that his father had given to Kaikeyi, one of King Dashratha's wives. This is in spite of the fact that Kaikeyi's son, Bharat, begged him to return back to Ayodhya and said that he did not want to rule in place of Shri Rama. But Shri Rama considered his dharma as a son above that of his own birthright and his life's ambition. For such supreme sacrifices, and many other qualities, Shri Rama is considered a maryada purushottam. [THE BEST AMONG MEN .]
