LEARNING OF AWARENESS

*"Wow...thats beautiful!" Is either a cry or a thought when faced with the mountain sunset, a spectacular view or a well formed man or woman. But where is the beauty, where is the appreciation of beauty, where is the ability to discern beauty? It is within our own consciousness. For the essence of who and what we are is beauty itself. The essence of beauty is not found in the body, a face or a mountain - they only stir the essence of beauty within our own spirit. And that beauty is not only something we taste within ourselves, but it emerges in our character as virtue, and in our life as care. For what is virtue, but love in action. The next time you say, "Thats beautiful!" know that you speak of yourself, and it is you who are beautiful. Always were, always will be.
*A task left undone remains undone in two places - at the actual location of the task, and inside your head. Incomplete tasks in your head consume the energy of your attention as they gnaw at your conscience. They syphon off a little more of your personal power every time you delay. No need to be a perfectionist, thats debilitating in an imperfect world, but its good to be a 'completionist'. If you start it, finish it...or forget it. Do it - or dump it!
*A person of wisdom and spirituality has very beautiful manners that have grown from genuine respect and love for the whole of humanity. Manners in this sense have nothing to do with culture or education: it is simply a question of humility. When we are at the receiving end of such manners, we feel that some deeper part of us has been honoured. In fact, none of us deserves anything less.
*A powerful, yet often misunderstood, aim of spiritual study is purity. Purity of the soul means to return to its original divine qualities. The soul has become so polluted with less than divine qualities, it can hardly enjoy being alive. Purifying the soul puts the higher self back in charge - useless and negative thoughts are removed and annoying habits finish. A pure soul cannot be touched by sorrow; indeed the power of purity is such, it serves to remove the sorrow of the whole world. Purity restores happiness - even bliss. All you need to do, in order to re-establish your purity, is want it. But you need to want it intensely, to the exclusion of everything else. The one thought, "I must become completely pure". sparks a fire of love between you and God. This fire melts away all the pollution, and your purity becomes such a power that it frees you from all battles for ever.
*A bar of iron costs Rs.5, made into horseshoes its worth is Rs.12, made into needles its worth is Rs.3500, made into balance springs for watches, its worth is Rs.300,000. Your own value is determined also by what you are able to make of yourself.

WISDOM IN GITA

knowledge IS SUPERIOR than mechanical practice ;meditation than Knowledge. But SUPERIOR-MOST still is surrender of attachment to results, because there follows immediate peace.
Neither in this world nor elsewhere is there any happiness in store for him who DOUBTS .
Anger causes delusion ;delusion ; power of Reason and reason -lost causes complete ruin .
Man is made by his belief, thought and action . As he believes, so he is.
The mind is restless and difficult to restrain, but it is attained by practice.
Those who eat too much or eat too little, who sleep too much or sleep too little, will not succeed in meditation. But those who are moderate in eating and sleeping, work and recreation, will come to the end of sorrow through meditation.
Still your mind in me, still yourself in me, and without a doubt you shall be united with me, Lord always, dwelling in your heart.
The soul who meditates on the Self is content to serve the Self and rests satisfied within the Self; there remains nothing more for him to accomplish.
Fear Not. What is not Real, never was and never will be. What is Real, always was and cannot be destroyed.
Not by refraining from Action does man attain Freedom from Action. Not by mere Renunciation of Action does he attain Supreme Perfection.
Action is greater than inaction. Perform therefore your Duty in life. Even the life of the body could not be if there were no Action.
When the sage climbs the heights of Yoga, he follows the path of work; but when he reaches the heights of Yoga, he is in the Land of Peace.
Whenever the mind unsteady and restless strays away from the spirit, let him ever and for ever lead it again , again and AGAIN to the Spirit.
No work stains a man who is Pure, who is in Harmony, who is Master of his life, whose Soul is one with the Soul of all.

GAYATRI MANTRA

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः
तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यम्
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि।
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्॥
The Gayatri Mantra is the elaboration of the Pranava Sabda or OM
Om
Bhur Bhuva Svaha
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyo yonah Prachodayat
तीनों लोकों के उस वरण करने योग्य (सूर्य) देवता की शक्तियों का ध्यान करते हैं, वह हमारी बुद्धि को प्रेरित (जाग्रत) करे।

The God (Sun) of the Earth, Atmosphere and Space, who is to be followed, we meditate on his power, (may) He inspire(s) our intellect.
This is the Gayatri Mantra given in Yajur Veda Mantra 22/9,30/2,36/3 Saam Veda Mantra 1462 and Rig Veda 3/62/10 .
The Gayatri Mantra was discovered by Sage Viswamitra. It was the same Sage Viswamitra who initiated Sri Rama into the mysteries of Sun worship,The Gayatri Mantra enabled Sage Viswamitra to use rare weapons which bowed to his will when the Mantra was repeated with faith.
The Gavatri Mantra is addressed to the energy of the Sun,It has immense powers, powers that are truly amazing, for the Sun is its presiding Deity.
The Gayatri Mantra is the reliever of diseases ; wards all miseries off ; fulfills all desires fends off all sins and bad addictions ;increases memory, intelligence ,wit ,power of decision making and ultimately always motivating to right path and action (the veryspirit of the prayer is to God Sun to guide us to Right Action)
There are three ways of Meditation of Gaytri mantra. One should sit on any suitable asan preferably sukhasan. The one should concentrate aagya chakr(Forehead between the eyes). We must not concentrate on any point which is outside of our body then close eyes we must chant the Gaytri mantyra with its full meaning daily. Second method= while sitting on asan one must do pranayaam. When we breath inside then we must stop breathing with close eyes and concentration on aagya chakr. Then we must continue to chant Gaytri manra. When we will be unable to stop breathing then release breathing slowly and slowly and thus stop breathing outside and recite Gaytri mantra.(Try to couple and yoke the two-Breath and Mantra , to be tempered in one . ) And repeat the method again and again that much you can do easily ;slowly increase the time and number .Third is the advance stage when you can do it at any place at any time in any posture and the mantra /words go very abstract that it chants itself the moment you remember it or even think of it.

COMMENTS ON GAYATRI MANTRA

“Of the many methods of yoga one of the most potent is the yoga of Gayatri mantra. Mantras have powers to endow one with remarkable abilities. The Gayatri mantra gives the devotees spiritual as well as material benefits.”
— Ramana Maharshi
“The way honey is the essence of flowers, and butter of milk, in the same manner Gayatri is the essence of all the Vedas. Gayatri when realized is verily the Kamadhenu – the celestial wish-fulfilling cow. Ganga cleanses the sins of this worldly body; Gayatri purifies the soul. The worship of god bereft of Gayatri is like going out to beg food leaving the meals laid out before you. Gayatri is the greatest means of extending your spiritual powers and successful accomplishment of good ends. There is nothing greater than Gayatri for this purpose..”
— Veda Vyasa
“Even divinities like Brahma pray to Gayatri because Gayatri makes possible the realization of Brahman. Gayatri removes from you the propensity to evil actions.”
— Rishi Bharadwaja
“Even fools, criminals and men with unstable minds are able to attain enlightenment by the power of Gayatri. When that is so, then the worship of Gayatri by the firm and pure minded persons will surely lead them to self knowledge and self-realisation. “
— Sage Vashishtha
“It is not possible for us to describe the greatness of Gayatri. It is not possible to act in this world beneficently without purity of mind. This purity of mind which brings in enlightenment leading to self-realisation is the result of the inspiration received from Gayatri. The avatara of Gayatri has occurred to aid us in the eradication of evil and to help increase the good.”
— Jagadguru Sankaracharya
“I tell people that due to the sadhana of Gayatri hard austeries have been rendered unnecessary. The treatest of siddhis can be obtained by the japa of Gayatri. The Gayatri mantra is small but its powers immeasurable. “
— Ramakrishna Paramahamsa
“Gayatri purifies the mind. Without the purity of mind our life is of no use. Gayatri is the producer of this purity of mind.”
— Sawami Vidyanada
“Of the many invaluable treasures given to us by our rishis, Gayatri is the incomparable one. Gayatri makes mind pure and gives the light of god to the soul and that releases light innumerable souls from the world’s bondage. Gayatri makes man god-loving while freeing him from worldly wants.”
— Pandit Madanmohan Malaviya
“The great mantra of Gayatri has a unique contribution to make in the impending new age. Its impact on the moral and ethical renascence of this new scientific-intellec tual age will be unequalled, unparalleled and extraordinary. “

SCRAPS SENT TO FRIENDS .

** To chant the Names of GOD is not just an act of belief but a scientific act to come in contact with GOD, and automatically get connected to, the Absolute Being. It is through this connection that one becomes purified; it is not simply a question of faith. When there is a contact between two substances, the superior substance has always influence on the inferior, and through this contact, the inferior substance will emulate the qualities of the superior. This means that when we chant the Names of GOD we have the contact with the WHOLE, that we are a part of . In other words, to chant the Names of GOD means to associate directly with Him. And when one associates with God, one acquires divine characteristics; and when one is completely purified, one becomes one with Universal Consciousness. Chanting the names of GOD is to be with your Mother as were in womb ; with your Origin uncut . All Goodness come to you uninvited as rivers to the Sea.
The whole universe constitutes one family. We are the progeny of one mother. Supreme Lord is our father and the earth is our mother. All the human beings on this earth are our brothers and sisters and the other beings are our own soul or self. We are the believer in non-duality, nonviolence and endurance. In this manner, we have given a good many things to the humanity.
** Devotion means for the Whole; it is never for Rama or Krishna ,Mohammad or Christ . Of course, but all these great men are implied in that Whole, so it is not for one. Love is always for the one, devotion is for the whole. So you cannot be a devotee of Rama. If you are for Rama, you are only a lover; and when you are a lover, then competition is bound to be there. Then Krishna will be a competitor, and Christ will be a competitor, and that creates jealousies, conflicts, and all the same nonsense . " सिया-राम मय सब जग जानी :: करहुँ प्रनाम जोरि जुग पानी "
**O saint, where do you seek Me? I am beside thee. I am neither in temple nor in mosque;neither in Kaaba nor in Kailash ; Neither in rites and ceremonies,
nor in Yoga and renunciation. If you are a true seeker, you shall at once see Me in a moment .Kabîr says, "O Sadhu!(saint) God is in the breath of all breaths."
**The man is greedy but he has no appetite. The man is very learned but is not very aware. He knows the scriptures, he can repeat them parrot-like, but he has no understanding. He goes on asking such questions again and again. This is for the first time that I am answering, because when the appetite is not there it is futile to talk about. It is better that he should go and live in the world and forget all about religion. Let the appetite come, this life or next. There is no hurry; God can wait. But let it come. It should be authentic. His appetite is just false.(Osho)
